Abstract Guidelines for UPISACON 2025

We invite you to submit and showcase your research work as podium presentations, Eposters or β€œcomplications in one minute session” for the upcoming UPISACON 2025.


Guidelines for Submission of Abstract

πŸ”° Abstracts must be the original work.

πŸ”° Abstracts must be submitted through the official online submission portal only. (Scroll to the end of this webpage)

πŸ”° The abstract content should be in English and must not exceed 250 words / 1500 characters (excluding author names, affiliations, title, and references).

πŸ”° You may upload one image or table if necessary.

πŸ”° Abstracts must be uploaded in MS Word format (.doc or .docx) only.

Rules & Regulations - For Podium Presentations

πŸ”° Only original research (with ethical clearance) and case series (with informed consent) will be accepted.

πŸ”° Abstracts must follow the structured format: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion

πŸ”° Interim analyses (minimum 50% of sample size completed) may be submitted but must be clearly mentioned in the title.

πŸ”° Incomplete studies without results will not be accepted.


Rules & Regulations - For E-Poster Presentations

πŸ”° Acceptable submissions include original research, case series, and case reports (all with appropriate consent and approvals).

πŸ”° Abstract format must include: Introduction, Case Report / Methodology, Conclusion


Rules & Regulations - For β€œComplications in One Minute” (COM) Session

πŸ”° The competitive appetizer will be divided into 2 sessions : Resident category (Include junior resident, senior resident, fellows) or post resident (include faculty, private practitioners or academicians)

1- Prepare a 1 slide presentation showcasing either - any complication or Complication followed by management during your anaesthesia practice

2- It may also have images, animations, or videos in the same slide

3- One participant can submit up to 2 entries

4- 6 entries will be selected in each category for final presentation during conference and judged accordingly by the jury

5- Timing will be 1min for presentation +3 mins for question and answers on the final day

6- Rest all the entries will be showcased as e-poster

7- Finalist will be communicated well before time and will also be given an opportunity to improvise their slide for the final day.

πŸ”° Tricks to make an impressive COM slide: make an impressive and catchy title; include multimedia; stick to time; highlight points to be emphasized.


General Guidelines

πŸ”° All abstracts will undergo a blinded peer review process by the scientific committee.

πŸ”° The decision of acceptance or rejection rests solely with the UPISACON 2025 Scientific Committee.

πŸ”° Selected abstracts will be informed via email with further presentation instructions.

πŸ”° Presentation Time: Paper: 5 minutes presentation + 2 minutes Q&A | Poster: 3 minutes presentation + 2 minutes Q&A


Eligibility Criteria

πŸ”° Open to Postgraduate students, Senior Residents, Fellows, Faculty members and Practicing Consultants.

πŸ”° The presenting author must be registered for UPISACON 2025.

πŸ”° Submissions from PGs and Fellows must be accompanied by a Bonafide Certificate from the Head of Department (uploaded along with the abstract).

πŸ”° The committee may request additional documentation as part of the review process.


Deadline

πŸ”° All abstract entries must be submitted before 31st August 2025 (12 midnight). The form will be closed after that.
